KOTA KINABALU… A CITY OF NEW AND OLD
So we had a spare day to spend in the city of Kota Kinabalu – the largest city on the island of Borneo. What more is there to do than to get out there on foot and explore?! The following is a recount of a great day spent getting to know one of Malaysia’s eclectic city landscapes.
SANDAKAN: THE WILDLIFE CAPITAL OF BORNEO
Next stop on our Borneo adventure saw us touch down in Sandakan Airport – the location of the infamous Sandakan Death Marches during the Japanese occupation of Borneo in WW2. Known as the ‘Wildlife Capital’ of Borneo, we were keen to go and check out some of the furry jungle dwellers running free in this special corner of Asia.
